Do You See Miracles?
We all know of amazing stories that appear to be miracles.
Before I became a follower of Jesus Christ, I was struggling to find God in the many disastrous cases I experienced daily in the Emergency Department where bad things happened to good people. I saw what seemed like many desperate prayers asking for a miracle, go unanswered.
I wondered, if there was a God and if the stories of miracles were true.
In retrospect, after becoming a follower of Christ, I can say without a doubt, God is performing miracles every day if we could only see through the eyes of Christ.
If we look at miracles, there are the fantastic, unexplainable events we hear and read about. The tumor was there, and in preparation for surgery it is gone, or the cases of patients who appear to have no medical explanation of how they were cured, and eventually walked out of the hospital.
If you research miracles a familiar story reported is the story of Lynn Jennifer Groesbeck who evidently lost control of her car and landed in the icy Spanish Fork River in Utah. Fourteen hours later rescuers found her 18-month-old daughter in a car seat suspended above the freezing water.
The miracle was that both the police officers and firefighters heard an adult voice yelling, “Help me!” The voice could not have come from her mother as she likely died at impact. They could not explain the voice, but they all clearly heard it, and can’t understand how the infant survived and completely recovered after exposure to freezing temperatures without being dressed for the cold. So, whose voice did they hear, and do you believe the first responders had a divine appointment, chosen to be at that place and time and strong enough to roll a car submerged in a river.
Let’s take a moment and look at the wonder of divine appointments and are they potentially miracles we may be missing? People and places that even in our wildest imagination, when you see how they happened, there is no explanation other than the hand of God. A situation where you happened to be at the right time and place that eventually turned out to be exactly where you had to be to meet someone. An unexplainable decision or incident that delayed you those few minutes that kept you from a catastrophic event. Coincidence or the hand of God?
I have written about many of these divine appointments in my previous posts, but what I desperately pray for is that God will grant us the vision to see the daily choices we make matters. People we meet, places we go, may just be a story waiting to happen that will change everything, if we see that Christ chose us to be there.
John Sutherland wrote that “Every Contact Leaves a Trace, ” and describes the impact every time two people meet.
I believe Christ chose you to be right where he wants you and your “choice” to engage or not matters. Whether it is a chance meeting with an old friend, your spouse, your children, your boss or coworker, an introduction through a text or email, is an event that will require you to ask the question, why?
Christ allow me the vision to see through your eyes. What am I to do with this meeting? What you do matters because these are miracles Christ arranged that just might change your life or the life of someone you haven’t even met.
Do we see that this meeting was not a coincidence, but possibly a miracle God is about to write?
When you finally arrive home into the open arms of our Savior Jesus Christ, he will open our eyes to these miracles of chance meetings.
There is a great quote I love by Johann Wolfgang:
Hell begins the day that God grants you the vision to see all,
Could have done,
Should have done,
Would have done,
But Did Not Do.
God is the author of our life story and we are on the Biblical time line, just like those we met in the Bible and the choices we make may be a miracle waiting to be written. Sometimes this begins with a divine appointment and how we respond will determine the story. God has blessed us through Teach To Transform and our partners with a miraculous story in 2018.
The medical trainings:
Have reached over 170,000 with the gospel.
Diagnosed 50,000 with high blood pressure.
Delivered over 4000 babies and resuscitated almost 600 that were not breathing.
We would like to invite you to share in the miracle story God is writing through Teach To Transform divine appointments. Please consider how you personally are impacting the Kingdom of Heaven with your donations and prayer.
Come join us as we follow Christ into the hardest places in the world.
